Episode 190:How We've Changed (aka Ayn Rand is just Terrible)

This week, Josh and Dietrich reflect on how they've changed as readers. From authors that they hated and have since come to love, to authors they used to love but now feel as if they've moved past, the pair discuss all of the ways that age, experience, and reading more and more books has changed the way they consume and approach reading. Josh talks about his long back-and-forth feelings on the author of Fight Club, Dietrich remembers the days that he thought Tom Clancy and Dirk Pitt were the pinnacle of literary achievements, and at some point, the pair spin off to discussing how Dietrich's parents introduced him to Ayn Rand, a fact that he's still angry about. In addition, the two rave about The Fireman, the newest masterpiece from horror author Joe Hill, and Josh finishes a trilogy decades in the making. Finally, Dietrich is way too late to the party in his love of Key and Peele, Josh discusses a podcast taking a unique look at film, and they wrap up by discussing their favorite podcast online today.
