Episode 139: The Lost Episodes

Occasionally, our combined education of journalism and English degrees may not yield the kind of technical acumen that you might expect would help us produce a podcast. When that happens, our recording gets gobbled up by technical demons, an occurence that's embarassing when it happens once. Twice? That's really frustrating, especially when they are two episodes the trio are actually pretty pleased with. Josh, Christopher and Dietrich revisit these lost episodes this week with a discussion of Palo Alto by James Franco, and what books they would require the world population to read were they ruthless dictators. First, the trio dives into the staggeringly unpopular short story collection, discussing the few moments of talent that gleam through and the surprisingly strong final story. Then they discover a bit of a surprise as the three each choose, while plotting on their own, to include one particular book on all of their required reading lists. Finally, they wrap up with a movie about slavery, a board game about serial killers, and a tv show about geopolitics, because, well, reasons.
